It was good that Mai does this. The Cup flew in Mios Direction before the Kick of Yukko could arrive her, Mio get out of the way of the Cup - and could avoid this way the kick of yukko and because of her avoiding the Cup she was late to hold Yukkos leg, so Yukko didn't get hurt either. From this perspective, Mai is just simply brilliant.So now you know.(PS: Im still sorry for that guy)
これはマイを褒めるところだろ。ユッコの蹴りより先にカップがミオに飛んで行ったことで、そのカップを避けたミオは、ユッコの蹴りを避けることが出来たんだ。そして後れを取ったミオはユッコの足を掴むのが遅れた。だからユッコも怪我をすることがなかったわけだ。この観点から考えると、マイの行動は見事と言わざるを得ない。これで分かっただろう。（追伸：あの男子は可哀想だけどな。）

I like how, just before she turns around to ask Yukko why she bought fried mackeral, Mio shakes the box. Like it will somehow change or something.

I think it's safe to say that this is my favorite scene not only in this anime, but in every one I've seen so far. There's just so many emotions wrapped up into one. They managed to make a moment serious, comedic, awesome, and heartwarming all at once. Nothing I have seen yet in anything ever can pull that off, let alone as well as Nichijou does. And that's why I love this anime so much.
これまで見たアニメの中でも一番のお気に入りシーンだって言えるわ。たった1シーンの中に色んな感情が描かれてるんだ。シリアス、お笑い、驚き、そして心温まる瞬間が1つにまとめてある。そんなことが出来るアニメはこの『日常』以外にまだ見たことがないよ。だから僕はこのアニメが凄く好きなんだ。

Actually, when Mio and Yukko are yelling, the class is looking, but they stop caring.
実際はミオとユッコが騒ぎ出した時に、クラスのみんなも反応したけど、すぐ興味なくしたよね。
